Habitat Board Selects an Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Habitat's Hancock County affiliate has selected Jimmy Goodson of Castine as it's Executive Director. "It feels as if almost every decision in my life has led me here". Professional architectural practice, successful real estate development partnership, student housing operations, and ongoing volunteerism with Habitat for Humanity over the years. It wasn't until last year, when my son and I volunteered to work with Constructores Para Cristo (CPC is a border town housing ministry in Piedras Negras, Mexico) that I realized what an impact a ministry like CPC or Habitat can have on a community.

I have lived in Maine for the last 6 years and determined, with the support of my family, to join Habitat giving back to the community. As Gandhi said "You must be the change you wish to see in the world!". I live in Castine with my wife, Sue and two children, Colin (18) and Margaret (10). I serve as Chair of the Board of Deacons at the Trinitarian Congregational Parish of Castine and I am Treasurer for the Castine Men's Club. Sue is already involved in not-for-profit work as Treasurer of the Board for a child development center in Castine.

Over the next several months as I begin my tenure with Habitat, don't be surprised if I call on your church, your business or your organization asking for your involvement in what I have come to regard as an amazing, ecumenical Christian housing organization.

Please join me in our work!
