Vehicle Donations

CARS for HOMES

Don’t let the name fool you. Habitat takes in a variety of vehicle donations that roll and float, even if they have been retired from use–cars, trucks, RVs, vans, SUVs, boats, motorcycles, farm and construction equipment.

Donating your vehicle is one more way that you can support our work in Hancock County, Maine; plus it’s fast and easy to do through our parent organization’s site, and you may qualify for a tax deduction.

Please specify that your donation should be designated to/benefit Hancock County Habitat for Humanity, Maine.

How to donate your car:
1. Go to the online donation wizard or call 1-877-277-4344.
2. The team will ask about your vehicle, including the make, model, vehicle identification number (VIN) and current mileage.
3. When your vehicle is accepted, schedule a day and time for it to be picked up.

What paperwork do I need to donate my car in Maine?
The State of Maine will require a Certificate of Title in order to donate your car. Missing the Title? It’s possible that you can get a copy through the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

To complete your car donation, transfer your title by entering the name of the agency that processes our car donations, ADVANCED REMARKETING SERVICES in the buyer/purchaser field. Then, PRINT and SIGN your name in the seller/owner field EXACTLY as it appears at the top of the title.
